Facilities

The premises were approved for change of use to a Children’s Day Nursery in 2000, and the building was refurbished and all modifications made in relation to Building Regulation Requirements. The former warehouse has been suitably adapted to provide a spacious and comfortable nursery. The nursery is situated in very pleasant surroundings of open fields and quiet countryside. We are registered for 75 children in our entire nursery but seldom reach 50 and our activity rooms are split up to cater for each child’s individual learning stage.

We have a Baby Room, a Toddler Room, and a Preschool Room which includes a conservatory downstairs and all are equipped and designed to provide the very best care and education for each individual child. We also make use of upstairs for Holiday Club and After School Club. The preschool room is a transitional phase for the children on the cusp of entering primary school. The main aim is to prepare the children for what is an important step in their learning journey. All rooms play different styles of music at certain times during each day including happy and fast tunes, classical music, and opera.

We have been awarded The Spread the Happiness Award from Shonette Bason Wood who is an International teacher for making learning fun and by doing lots of fun activities in a happy environment. Each room has an I pad, and staff carry out observations and complete learning journeys on the children and we also use the seesaw app to show the parents how their child is developing.

Our Rooms

All rooms are bright and spacious and all activities are conducted through the medium of both Welsh and English resulting in all children learning the basics in their second language. The nursery will ensure the four main needs of children are met, the need for love and security, new experiences, praise and recognition and a framework of responsible behaviour.

The nursery provides children with opportunities to work in both small and large groups and by themselves. We strive to ensure that our children feel secure and valued and that we establish and maintain positive relationships with parents. We create environments for our children to learn, develop and discover and by giving the children opportunities to play with real resources and natural materials we are bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into their daily lives as well as teaching them life skills. We make use of discarded items and these treasures will ignite the flames of curiosity in our thinkers and doers of the future.

Sensory Room

Our sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving, and creativity and sensory play helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.

When embarking on the daunting task of looking for a nursery for our son, we as a family were so very lucky to have received a recommendation for Corwen Day Nursery.  Our first visit to the warm and inviting Nursery filled us with confidence that our son would be nurtured by caring staff within a safe environment full of creativity and opportunity.  From day 1 (3 years ago) each member of the Nursery staff has played a significant role in our son’s development, confidence and character. During a period of uncertainty regarding our son’s milestones the Team supported us and with their commitment to his development, he is now a thriving, happy, bright boy, exceeding our expectations daily.  Very grateful to everyone at the Nursery and would highly recommend.
