Baby Room

This caters for babies to pre toddlers and incorporates a sleep room for those quiet moments. During the settling in period staff will have become familiar with your child’s routine and will follow this at nursery.

The room is divided with a soft padded carpeted area, which is great for exploring and playing and a soft lino area for simple painting, messy play, sand and water play and craftwork.

The room is equipped with all the necessary resources and equipment to enhance and develop the participating child’s individual learning stage.

Babies learn through their senses and physical contact, singing and talking to the babies will be undertaken along with encouraging crawling, standing and walking. The babies enjoy messy play and are enthralled when it is music time and dancing or when the treasure baskets are put out. Self-registration takes place in all the rooms and the babies love looking at their own pictures.

This room has double doors which lead to the babies own outdoor area which has a playhouse, a wooden wiggly wobbly bridge, a slide, ride ons and a sand and water tray. The babies are taken for walks regularly to look for animals in the neighbouring fields and into the town.

Daily bonding activities that take place in the baby room include staff walking with the baby on the hip, tickle time and peek a boo.

The baby room has a sofa appropriate to the age of the children in this room along with a small kitchen role play area. Other activities that the babies enjoy are finger rhymes, stories, nursery rhymes, roll a ball, action rhymes and knock downplay.

Freddie started at Corwen Day Nursery when he was 9 months old and has developed massively.  All of the baby room staff were brilliant with him and us.  The staff are good for letting us know how he has been and what he has been up to.  We love having him there.  We also love the food on offer – Thank you so much.
